A toddler shout out

A note of comfort for you parents of skinny anti-eating toddlers:

My K-Mac had a very small appetite as a toddler. She would drink milk and juice and carry her sippy cup with her around the house. But to get that child to sit down and eat a meal was impossible. She was just way too busy. Girl had things to do. She weighed 15 pounds at 18 months. (In case you weren't aware, toddlers should never weigh less than their age in months.) I took her to the doctor. He said she was normal and she'd grow out of it. I was paranoid and didn't believe him. K-Mac's Dad would try to feed her by hand. But this would just be a control duel that ended with K-Mac gagging and puking in retaliation. Very stressful. I was convinced that she was failing to thrive.

She was fine. This photographic evidence is K-Mac at about 18 months. Now scoll down to the previous post. That's K-Mac yesterday. Not failing to thrive in the least.
The trigger to get her to eat was when baby sister was born. Ru was born huge and hungry and gave K-Mac eating competition.

That Kelly. Everyone was so worried about her refusal to eat. As Papa once said, "Do they make a medication that cures stubborness?"
